Kids take their turn in their own CCC race
While the adults were racing in the Cascade Cycling Classic all this week, on Sunday kids got their turn to compete in a race.
Cyclists from 2- to 16-years-old came out to race Sunday afternoon at Summit High School.
Little riders raced for a couple of laps, while 13 to 16-year-olds took park in a 20-minute criterium.
After a safety check and making sure helmets were on, the kids took off.
And for kids like Braden, they just wanted to win, but also have a fun time racing.
“I’ve been pretty much in the front, but sort of like in the middle of the group the other times,” said Braden. “But this time, I’m going to try to win, so I’m hoping to get first, second or third.”
Braden has competed in the race the last four years.
Medals were awarded to the top three kids to cross the finish line.
