Beer for Boobies event supports a good cause

KTVZ

Two words sum up this story: beer and boobies. Yes, you read that right.

The third annual Beer for Boobies event raises money for Sara’s Project, a local breast cancer support charity.

The event took place Saturday at the Cross Creek Caf in downtown Redmond.

The most exciting part of the event is the men’s best chest contest called Redmond’s Best Rack.

The guys wear custom-made bras or have creative shavings.

The contest is judged by a panel of breast cancer survivors.

“We’ve had a city councilor that’s done it,” said Tammy Mills, Cross Creek caf owner. “We’ve had dentists that have done it, we’ve had chiropractors, downtown businessmen — we’ve had the whole gamut. People will look at the poster and they will be like, ‘Oh, that’s funny — guys in bras’ and then like, ‘Oh — that’s my dentist!'”

After the contest, a silent auction was planned. Live music was played throughout the night.

In the past, the event has raised around $5,000 for Sara’s Project, and organizers hope to match that again this year.
