Blown fuse knocks out power in NE Bend

KTVZ

More than 100 northeast Bend residents lost power for up to 4 1/2 hours Thursday night after a fuse blew in an underground cable, Pacific Power officials said.

The outage began around 8 p.m. in the NE Daggett Lane area, said utility spokesman Tom Gauntt.

Some callers to Deschutes County 911 in the Wells Acre Road area reported the sound of an explosion, and Gauntt said an underground fuse blowing “might have accounted for the sound.”

The affected customers were brought back online in small groups of about 20 at a time, the last having their power restored around 12:30 a.m. Friday, Gauntt said.
