Food drive challenge to benefit NeighborImpact
James Chrisman, Agent with State Farm Insurance located at 1288 SW Simpson Suite B-1 Bend, OR 97702 (Ray’s Shopping Center between Simpson and Century Drive) is holding “The First Annual, Go Team … Beat Hunger!” Food Drive running Monday, October 8 th through Friday, November 16 th .
The James Chrisman Agency has united with friends and people in the community to help fight hunger in Central Oregon by challenging all college football fans that like to wear green and yellow or orange and black to see who can collect the most non-perishable food to help those in need.
This is a good natured community competition that can make an impact to many people in the Central Oregon area. In their first year, their goal is to raise collectively over 15,000 pounds of food.
Currently, 20,000 individuals are accessing emergency food throughout Central Oregon each month, so food drives such as this are critical to NeighborImpact’s success in keeping up with demand.
The community is encouraged to bring their nonperishable food donations to the Westside State Farm office, where there are two collection barrels decorated with team colors.
At the end of the competition, fans of the team that collects the most food will have an opportunity to have some fun with Agent James Chrisman.
Office Representatives Michelle and Julie say, “We can’t wait to see if it will be a Beaver or Duck fan that will get to toss a pie in his face, so get a team together and start collecting for your favorite team!”
