Eugene shooting suspect caught in Redmond

A Lane County fugitive wanted in connection with a Eugene shooting last fall was taken into custody this week in Redmond, police said Thursday.

Redmond police got information from Lane County that Timothy Frank Wilson, 32, was staying in the Redmond area, said Sgt. Brad McMurrian.

Wilson had outstanding felony warrants regarding drug charges and misdemeanor warrants for his arrest, McMurrian said.

He also was one of two people sought as a “person of interest” in connection with a Nov. 6, 2011 shooting in northeast Eugene. Damon Terry Lee Johnson, 33, was shot once and taken to the hospital.

Lane County sheriff’s deputies identified two people they believed were involved – Wilson and Jennifer Lynn Hutchens, 28. Wilson was believed to be armed and dangerous.

Wilson had been on the run for over a year and has a criminal history of weapons and drug crimes, the sergeant said.

McMurrian said further investigation found Wilson at 1646 SW 34 th Street in Redmond.

Working with Lane County authorities and the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team, Wilson was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday, the sergeant said.

He was taken to the Lane County Jail, where he was booked on charges of driving with a suspended license and cocaine possession.
