Portland man charged with dealing heroin in Bend

KTVZ

A Portland man who allegedly traveled to Bend to sell drugs was arrested late last week for doing just that, and a raid on his motel room turned up more heroin and some cash, officers said Monday.

Last Thursday, Bend police received information that a man had recently traveled from Portland to Bend to sell drugs, said Sgt. Nick Parker.

Police began an investigation and identified Lewis Corti Soltez, 33, as the suspect, Parker said. They were able to develop evidence Soltez was dealing drugs, the officer said.

Around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, Soltez was spotted walking on NE Third Street near Lafayette Avenue, Parker said. He was arrested and found to possess a small amount of heroin, packaged for delivery, the sergeant said.

A search warrant was obtained for Soltez’s room at the Dunes Motel on Third Street, where four grams of heroin and an undisclosed amount of cash were seized, Parker said.

Soltez remained held at the Deschutes County Jail on Monday, facing drug possession, manufacture and delivery charges. Bail was set at $30,000, pending a Wednesday court appearance, according to online records.
