Abilitree names new executive director

The Board of Directors of Abilitree announced that Tim Johnson, present Work Center Director, will become the new Executive Director of Abilitree commencing with Jim Lee’s retirement at the close of this calendar year.

Stated current Board President Bethany Graham; “We are thrilled to have Tim Johnson moving into the role of Executive Director.

“Tim has big shoes to fill, but his extensive experience in the business community and his three years of leadership experience at Abilitree under Jim Lee’s mentorship make him the ideal fit for the leadership of the organization. We know Tim will continue to strengthen and deliver on Abilitree’s core mission-helping people with disabilities develop independence in their own lives.”

Stated Jim Lee, “We have been working on this leadership transition plan since April of 2011. I could not be more pleased with Tim’s continued professional development and of the Board’s decision to retain him as our new Executive Director. Tim has gathered and is developing an excellent leadership team around him that will serve our organization well for years to come.”

Abilitree’s (www.abilitree.org) mission as a nonprofit organization is to grow the independence, work productivity and full inclusion for all people with disabilities in the Central Oregon region.

Services include information and referral, peer support and counseling, skills training, vocational training, job experience and community placement, benefits coordination, leisure and recreation and life skills training.

Stated Lee; “We provide opportunities for all people with disabilities to discover their true abilities while becoming productive citizens throughout our community.”
