Meyer Memorial Trust awards C. Oregon grants

At the October program meeting, Meyer Memorial Trust’s board of trustees made four grants totaling more than $50,000 to organizations in Central Oregon.

These awards were all part of the Grassroots Grants program, which typically go to smaller nonprofits, often largely operated by volunteers.

These grants bring the total amount awarded since Meyer Memorial Trust began operating in 1982 to nearly $19.5 million in central Oregon.

MeyerMemorialTrustis one of the largest private foundations in Oregon, with assets of approximately $669 million.The Board of Trustees—which includes Debbie Craig, John Emrick, Orcilia Ziga Forbes, George Puentes and Gerry Pratt—meets monthly to make grants.

For technical improvements to an online directory of sustainable businesses

To develop and implement a strategic fund development plan

For capital improvements to a facility that provides meeting space for people recovering from addiction

For capital repairs to this organization’s center that serves seniors in central Oregon
