Law enforcement reserve academy graduation

The Central Oregon Reserve Law Enforcement Officer Academy will hold commencement exercises for the class of 2012 in the auditorium of Ridgeview High School, 4555 Elkhorn, AV., Redmond, on Saturday, November 10 at 10:00 AM.

The ten graduates represent four Central Oregon Law Enforcement agencies including the Deschutes County Sheriff=s Office and the Police Departments of Prineville, Madras and Redmond.

In successfully completing the 321 hours of intensive Academy training, each graduate met established performance standards of Oregon=s Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. The graduates will return to their respective agencies as sworn Reserve Peace Officers and begin their assigned duties under the supervision of a field training officer.

The Academy is a cooperative effort of Central Oregon=s Law Enforcement Agencies. This years Academy was sponsored by the Redmond Police Department and hosted by the Deschutes County Sheriff=s Office. Classes were conducted in the Sheriff’s MAC Training Center as well as the Sheriff’s range facility and the COSSA firearms range. The Academy instructional staff consists of regular and reserve law enforcement officers from the participating agencies, the Deschutes County District Attorney=s Offices, the Oregon State Police, as well as a number of individuals from various civic and governmental organizations.
