Friends with Flowers becomes The Bloom Project
The Bloom Project, formerly Friends with Flowers of Oregon, is pleased to announce its new name and brand. The announcement solidifies The Bloom Project’s commitment to serve hospice and palliative care patients through the gift of flowers in Central Oregon for years to come.
“It is with gratitude to our community for support and excitement about future
growth that we make this announcement today,” said Heidi Berkman, founder
of The Bloom Project. “We look forward to serving more patients, here in
Central Oregon and beyond!”
The Bloom Project is privileged to bring beauty and joy to hospice and palliative care patients as well as their families as they care for their loved ones. This is made possible through the generous donation of flowers, supplies and a workspace as well as through a dedicated team of volunteers, who give thousands of hours of service each year.
It is estimated that by the end 2012 more than 23,000 bouquets will have been gifted to patients over the last four years.
In addition to continued service throughout Central Oregon, The Bloom Project
intends to encourage other communities to consider working with them to bring
the compassion, beauty and joy of the gift of flowers to hospice patients in
their regions.
The Bloom Project invites all to celebrate with them by volunteering, donating
vases, flowers or funds. Or, by simply sharing their story with others.
About The Bloom Project
The Bloom Project is a non-profit organization that designs fresh floral
arrangements for hospice and palliative care patients, providing beauty and
compassion during their final days. Many of the flowers used in the
arrangements are donated by florists, grocery stores, growers, master
gardeners or recycled from events. On a weekly basis, volunteers create
simple arrangements and hospice staff share the flowers with their patients.
