Pole Creek Fire area closure reduced

KTVZ

Beginning Friday, the Deschutes National Forest is modifying the Pole Creek Fire closure order to increase winter recreation opportunities, particularly in the Three Creeks area.

Following projects to address erosion and safety concerns, the Sisters Ranger District is modifying the Pole Creek fire closure in the following manner:

Portions of the Three Creek Lake Nordic trail ( Forest Service Road 1600700) will reopen to provide Nordic skiing opportunities. The Jeff View Shelter area off of Forest Service Road 1600700 will reopen for winter use. Most of the Three Creeks Lake area will be reopened. Forest Service Road 1520 and portions of the Forest Service Road 1018 will also reopen.

If the public has questions about the modifications, they should contact the Sisters Ranger District, 541-549-7700 or go to the Deschutes National Forest’s website www.fs.usda.gov/centraloregon.
