Register for Oregon State Fair competitions

Online registration and competition handbooks for the 2013 Oregon State Fair are now available.

Competitors have more options for submitting and retrieving their entries at new drop-off and pick-up locations located throughout the state.

The last day to register online and by mail is August 2 , but in-person registrations will be accepted through August 15 . The fair will be held August 23 – September 2 .

Competition groups include:

CREATIVE LIVING GENERAL: Baked Goods, Preserves, Decorated Cakes, Textiles and much more.
QUILTS: Miniature, Crib, Art and Innovative.
PAPER : Scrapbooking, Quilling, and Greeting Cards.
WOODWORKING: Marquetry, Turning, Carving and Sculpture.
ARTS: Fine Art, Photography, Calligraphy and Poetry.
FARM, GARDEN & FLORAL: Fruits, Vegetables, Bonsai and Flowers.

Entrants are encouraged to register online. The deadline for online registrations is Friday, August 2 . Entry forms may also be brought to the state fair office or mailed (postmarked by August 2 ). Entries may be brought to the fairgrounds between August 10 -15:

Saturday, August 10 & Sunday, August 11 : 10a.m. – 6 p.m.
Monday, August 12 through Wednesday, August 14 : 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Thursday, August 15 : 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

After the fair, entrants can retrieve their items from the Fairgrounds between September 5 -7:

Thursday, September 5 through Friday, September 6 : 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday, September 7, 2013 , 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Entrants also have the option of dropping off their nonperishable items to Sleep Country USA locations in Bend, Medford, Portland, and Springfield from August 10 to August 14. This new service is thanks to a donation from Sleep Country USA. For store locations and hours, click here (sleepcountry.com/mattresses-regions.aspx). Items submitted through Sleep Country will be returned to the same store by September 10 and kept through September 24, 2013 .

People interested in volunteering at the state fair can visit oregonstatefair.org/volunteer. Volunteers earn a free state fair admission ticket for every four hours of service.

The 2013 Oregon State Fair will take place in Salem August 23 – September 2 . Hundreds of activities are free with admission: daily stage entertainment, livestock, arts and crafts, vendors. Adults (ages 13 – 64): $11.00, Seniors (ages 65 & over): $6.00, Youth (ages 6 – 12): $6.00, Ages 5 and under: free, Parking: free. See you there!
