Motorcyclist hurt, driver cited in Hwy. 20 collision

A Bend woman was critically injured Monday afternoon in a collision involving her motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of Highway 20 and Cook Avenue in Tumalo, Oregon State Police said Tuesday. The SUV driver was cited for failure to yield, they added.

According to OSP Sgt. David Pond, around 2:25 p.m., a Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Kelly M. Webb, 48, of Bend, was westbound on Highway 20, approaching the intersection with Cook Avenue.

A southbound Honda CRV driven by Stephanie M. Moss, 27, of Redmond, drove from Cook Avenue into the motorcycle’s path and was struck in the driver’s side, Pond said.

Webb received serious injuries and was flown by AirLink helicopter to St. Charles-Bend, where she was listed in critical condition Tuesday. Pond said she was wearing a protective helmet.

Moss and her three child passengers were wearing seat belts and were unhurt, the trooper said.

Moss was cited for failure to yield before entering a highway.

OSP troopers from the Bend Area Command office were assisted at the scene by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, Bend Fire & Rescue, and ODOT. The highway was partially closed until the scene investigation was completed and vehicles towed.
