High Desert Chamber Music receives grant

High Desert Chamber Music has been awarded a community grant through the Roy and Diane Marvin Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation, in the amount of $15,000.

Of that, $10,000 is granted immediately, and the remaining $5,000 must be matched by new or increased individual donations.

In addition, a grant from the F.J. Hodecker Family Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation was also received, in the amount of $1,000.

The Oregon Community Foundation awards grants and scholarships through funds set up by individuals, families and businesses to support community causes around the state.

HDCM has begun an “OCF Matching Funds Campaign”. Any contribution from a new donor, or increase in contribution from an existing donor, will go toward reaching our goal.

“We are very fortunate to receive this award and challenge from The Oregon Community Foundation, and these funds will be used to strengthen educational outreach programs, broaden our audience base, and increase support for visiting artists and support staff. We are at a critical juncture in our growth and development, and this support ensures the immediate continuation of our mission,” states Executive Director Isabelle Senger.

High Desert Chamber Music’s mission is to bring world class chamber music and musicians to Central Oregon. Through our concert series and educational outreach programs, we aspire to heighten a level of appreciation, awareness, and understanding of this great genre of classical music.

Founded in 2008 by violinist Isabelle LaForet Senger, HDCM has presented a broad range of chamber groups, ranging from string trios to piano quintets.
