Bend car-motorcycle crash seriously injures rider
A driver was cited for a dangerous left turn after she struck a motorcyclist on Highway 20 near Cooley Road Sunday morning, sending one of two riders to the hospital with serious injuries, Oregon State Police said.
Traffic was slowed on the highway west of Bend.
Troopers said around 10:30 a.m., an SUV driven by Amy Frohnmayer of Portland was headed west on the highway when she turned left onto Cooley and hit a motorcyclist.
Troopers said motorcycle operator Erik Nelson of California had minor injuries. His passenger, Brittaney Toles, also of California suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to St. Charles-Bend, they said.
Frohnmayer was cited for making a dangerous left turn.
The accident blocked one lane of eastbound traffic for about a half-hour.
