Rotary Duck Race tickets go on sale

The 24 th Annual Great Drake Park Rotary Duck Race is on!

This year’s race will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 11 a.m., presented by title sponsor: “Credit Unions Working Together” (Mid Oregon Credit Union, First Community Credit Union, OnPoint Community Credit Union, and SELCO Community Credit Union). Since 1989, the Duck Race has raised over one million dollars for Central Oregon charities, all supporting children and families in need.

Duck Race tickets are on sale now for $5 each. Ticket holders will have a chance to win nearly $30,000 in local prizes – including a $20,000 auto voucher towards the vehicle of the winner’s choice at Robberson Ford, Lincoln and Mazda!

The FREE “Kid’s Duck Race,” packed with family fun, will commence at noon presented by BendBroadband, followed by the main race at 1pm. Festivities will include live music, food, bounce houses, children’s activities, prizes and more.

The Duck Race is an ongoing annual fundraiser organized by all four Bend area Rotary clubs. Rotary has no paid salaries for the event. 100% of the net proceeds will go towards the following 2013 charities: The LOFT, The Kids Center, Family Kitchen,

Kemple Clinic, Mountain Star Family Relief Nursery and Shots for Tots.

Tickets are available at Mid Oregon Credit Union, First Community Credit Union, OnPoint, and SELCO or from any Bend area Rotarian. Also, look for Rotarians selling ducks at the Bend Saturday Market, Ray’s, Whole Foods, Newport Market and Fred Meyer.

2013 Duck Race Schedule:

11:00 am – Festivities in park, music, food & activity booths

12:00 pm – FREE Kids Duck Race 500 Ducks FREE presented by BendBroadband

1:00 pm – Race Start! (Galveston Bridge)

1:23 pm – Estimated time winning ducks begin to cross the finish line (Mirror Pond Foot Bridge)

2:00 pm – Winners & awards announced at staging area in Drake Park
