NewsChannel 21 First at Ten on Fox expanding to hour
Beginning Monday, October 14, NewsChannel 21 First at Ten on Fox goes to a full hour. The extra 30 minutes will provide viewers with more local, regional and national news, along with new feature segments, an expanded “Local Alert” weather forecast, and expanded sports coverage.
“A full hour at 10 p.m. gives us a real opportunity to fulfill a need we’ve seen for some time,” said News Director Lee Anderson. “The audience at 10 p.m. is a dedicated ‘news’ audience, and they’ve asked for more…we’ve listened, and we’re excited.”
“Viewer feedback has been tremendous for years, but occasionally we receive requests for coverage of events which a half-hour newscast makes challenging. Now that we’ve added more reporters and producers in our newsroom, we’re positioned to provide that additional coverage,” said General Manager Bob Singer.
With the additional half-hour at 10 p.m., NewsChannel 21 will now produce five hours of live local news daily, four hours on KTVZ and one hour on KFXO. In addition, a convenient, re-broadcast of NewsChannel 21 News at Sunrise airs on KFXO from 7-9am Monday through Friday.
