KTVZ

KPOV 88.9 High Desert Community Radio is holding its fall membership pledge drive Oct. 3- 12. KPOV is the only non-profit public radio station originating from Bend, broadcasting throughout Deschutes County and the Prineville area.

KPOV is asking businesses and non-profits to volunteer to answer phones during the pledge drive. Groups and businesses already scheduled include: The Environmental Center, Neighbor Impact, Downtown Bend Business Assoc., and Jobs with Justice. Call 541-322-0863 for more information or online at www.kpov.org.

The goal of the membership drive is to raise $20,000 to help support KPOV programming and operations through the end of the year. Along with thank you gifts at various member levels, KPOV will hold a daily raffle during its on-air pledge breaks.

Over 70 volunteers produce and host 40 music shows and seven talk shows. Also broadcasting are several nationally syndicated programs not heard elsewhere in Central Oregon, such as Democracy Now!
