Bend’s Tower Theatre honors 400,000th patron

KTVZ

On Saturday, the nonprofit Tower Theatre Foundation surprised and rewarded its 400,000 attendee since the renovated movie house reopened as a performing arts venue in January 2004.

Katy and Tom Griffin of Bend entered the Tower as patrons no. 399,999 and 400,000 as they attended the closing night of “Monty Python’s Spamalot!”

Before the curtain raised on the sold-out Spamalot performance, the Tower’s executive director, Ray Solley, awarded the Griffins a mixed bag of prizes as the ushers set off confetti poppers and blew noisemakers.

Along with a Spamalot poster signed by the entire cast and crew of Stage Right Productions, the Griffins received gift certificates from ICE Fine Jewelry, 5 Fusion, 900 Wall and 2nd Street Theater, as well as lifetime free beverages at the Tower’s concession stand.

The Tower expects to cross the half-million patron threshold in late 2015.
