C.O. industrial fire precaution levels reduced

KTVZ

Due to cooler weather and moisture coming into the area, the leaders of the BLM and Forest Service dropped the Industrial Fire Precaution Level to a Level 1 on all lands managed by their agencies in Central Oregon as of noon Monday.

All lands on the BLM Prineville District, the Deschutes and Ochoco national forests and the Crooked River National Grassland are now in a Level 1 Industrial Fire Precaution Level (IFPL), which means that normal fire season precautions are in effect.

The BLM and Forest Service lands in Central Oregon had been under an IFPL Level 2. An IFPL Level 2 requires a suspension of operations between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. every day.

The federal action does not change any State of Oregon fire restrictions.
