Bend Heritage Walk app launched

The Des Chutes Historical Museum announced Friday the launch of the new Bend Heritage Walk application for smartphones and tablets.

Featuring seven downtown Bend locations, the application is designed to guide users on a walk from the oldest standing structure in the City of Bend to the first ‘modern’ school built by Bend residents.

The guided walk features audio narration, historical photographs, and hidden historical trivia for the Goodwillie-Allen-Rademacher House (now Crow’s Feet Commons); the history of Wall and Bond Streets; the Liberty Theater building; the Tower Theatre; the original Bend High School (Bend La Pine School District Administration Building); the Bend Amateur Athletic Club (Boys and Girls Club of Central Oregon); and Reid School ( present day Des Chutes Historical Museum).
