New ‘Fire Hurts, Red Cross Helps’ campaign

KTVZ

Home fires can happen without warning, leaving families without possessions, precious family photographs, or even something as simple as clothes to wear. Important questions begin to arise. Where will you sleep? Will you be able to feed your children, or get the things they need to return to school? How will you replace your prescription medication?

Every day, the fire department is prepared to respond to devastating house fires. Once the fire is out, the Red Cross is there to provide a place to sleep, warm meals, clothing, counseling and hope. Trained volunteers know how to respond by using resources pre-arranged shelters and supplies procured in advance.

ServiceMaster Restoration Specialists and Erickson’s Thriftway are sponsors of the Oregon Mountain River Chapter Fire Hurts, Red Cross Helps campaign. You, too, can help. Donate today and Service Master Restoration Specialists will match your gift. In addition to donating online, visit your local Erickson’s Thriftway to donate at the check stand.

The American Red Cross Oregon Mountain River Chapter is part of a nationwide network of more than 500 chapters and blood collection sites across the nation.
