Red Cross offers vehicle donation program
You can donate blood, volunteer time and contribute funds critical to disaster relief. But did you know that you can donate a vehicle in support of the American Red Cross, too?
The Red Cross has launched a vehicle donation program with Insurance Auto Auctions (IAA) that converts unneeded vehicles into Red Cross donations to help those in need.
This convenient program offers free vehicle pick-up, making for an easy tax-deductible way to dispose of unwanted vehicles.
“People may think their old vehicle is worthless, but the donation could be priceless to someone in need of Red Cross services,” said Cindy Silveira, chief development officer for the American Red Cross Cascades Region.
Making a difference with your vehicle donation is easy. Visit redcross.org/cardonation, call 855-92RCCAR or contact a local Red Cross Chapter office to make arrangements. IAA representatives will pick up vehicles at no cost and at a time convenient for donors. They will then sell the vehicle and provide the donor a tax receipt on behalf of the Red Cross.
The vehicle donation program is available in all 50 states, and accepts cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, boats, snowmobiles, jet skis, tractors, farm equipment and more, in any condition—even salvaged.
Donated vehicles will be sold for the maximum value possible, and the proceeds will go entirely toward supporting the mission of the Red Cross: preventing and relieving suffering for people every day.
