Madras woman arrested in meth raid
A drug raid Thursday afternoon on a Madras residence led to the arrest of a 45-year-old woman, accused of trafficking in methamphetamine in Jefferson County, authorities said.
Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team detectives, assisted by Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies and Warm Springs tribal police, executed a search warrant around 2:15 p.m. at 1520 SW Hwy. 97, No. 7, officials said.
Jewell Beston was taken into custody without incident after a short-term investigation revealed she was involved in trafficking street-level quantities of meth in the area, the drug team reported.
A search if the residents turned up scales, packaging material and user amounts of methamphetamine.
Beston was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail on drug manufacturing, delivery and possession charges. She was held on $35,000 bail, according to jail records.
