Frozen pipes hit Chemult Hwy. 97 rest stop

KTVZ

Recent sub-freezing temperatures have frozen water service to the Highway 97 southbound highway rest stop, about two miles south of Chemult, ODOT said Tuesday.

Since the extreme weather conditions set in, water service has been interrupted by the freeze and efforts to restore water service to the rest stop have been unsuccessful to date.

ODOT will accommodate traveler’s needs by contracting with a local supplier to provide multiple portable toilet facilities that will be inspected and serviced on a regular maintenance schedule.

As weather conditions permit, ODOT will repair the water pipes and restore regular rest stop facilities.
