Walt Reilly’s, a new dining and entertainment venue, opens on Bend’s Westside

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) --Walt Reilly’s, a new entertainment venue on the Westside of Bend, offers virtual golf suites, virtual batting cages, mini-golf and a piano bar and stage for the Central Oregon community.
"Knowing what this town wants and likes, I think bringing all of that indoor is going to be really exciting and fantastic," Tim Kerns, one of the co-owners to the entertainment venue, said Monday.
Kerns, along with Paul Gerber, created Walt Reilly's at 225 Southwest Century Drive with the idea of combining fine dining, entertainment and sports all together under one roof.
“I think we kind of wanted it to cater to everybody, where a family would feel comfortable, where 20-somethings would feel comfortable coming in,” Gerber said.
Kerns added, "You can play 9-on-9 (virtual baseball) games in the winter, all season long. We also have 190 golf courses on the golf simulator."
Food options will include more than the standard hot dog and pizza choices. The venue will provide food options from a partnership with Drake and Washington’s restaurant in Bend.
"I wanted to make sure their focus will also be to open a restaurant that was not an amenity but the focal point of the business," said Ted Swigert, owner of Drake and Washington's.
Swigert added that his executive chefs created a menu to match the "eater-tainment" atmosphere.
"The menu plays off of golf and baseball with the names and characters, and it's actually a lot of fun. It's a pretty creative menu for sandwiches, salads and shareables," Swigert said.
Customers can also watch sports games on nearly a dozen TV screens.
"It's going to be one of the premier places to watch sports in all of Central Oregon," Kerns said.
Although Walt Reilly's operating hours are limited at the moment to 3-11 p.m., they plan on expanding services in the near future.
"We think that we will be open for Saturday and Sunday brunches and seven days a week of lunches, and hopefully all the way until midnight every single night," Kerns said.
