Camp Fire C.O. names new board members
The Camp Fire Central Oregon Board of Directors is pleased to announce four new members. Carolyn Eagan joins Camp Fire’s board as the new president, and Russell Ali, Jacob Fain and William Kemp are new board members.
A seasoned nonprofit board member and the City of Bend’s Business Advocate, Eagan brings strategic planning skills and a keen interest in after-school program development to the board. Ali, a COAR realtor, is excited to contribute his experience in marketing, sales, and project planning to Camp Fire to help the organization continue to grow. With a background in finance and nonprofit management, Fain, Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley, will play a critical role in board governance and financial health. Kemp is the Development Director at NeighborImpact and contributes years of nonprofit experience and in-depth knowledge of all phases of development to Camp Fire.

Their breadth of experience and interests will further round out our Board,” says Kecia Kubota, Camp Fire Central Oregon’s Executive Director. “They have a very realistic and balanced perspective on what we as an organization need to do in the short term to be sustainable. At the same time, they have clear enthusiasm for contributing to the long-term vision of how we can expand our programs to have a greater positive impact on more youth and meet the needs and interests of our community.”
Founded in 1916, Camp Fire Central Oregon now serves about 500 youth and adults in the Central Oregon community. The nonprofit youth development organization offers weekly after-school programs; monthly family-friendly Camp Fire Connects events, partnering with other local community organizations; annual summer camps; and leadership development and skill-building workshops for boys and girls ages 4 to 21.
Camp Fire is one of the nation’s leading nonprofit youth development agencies, currently serving nearly 750,000 participants annually. Founded in 1910 as “Camp Fire Girls,” the contemporary, coeducational Camp Fire provides all-inclusive, age-appropriate, outcome- and research-based programs in hundreds of communities across the United States. Camp Fire’s programs, including small group experiences, after-school programs, camping, environmental education, and service learning, build confidence in younger children and deliver hands-on, youth-driven leadership experiences for older youth.
