New ‘Grow Oregon’ business advisor for C.O.
The Small Business Development Center at COCC announces the appointment of Pam Stevenson as Business Advisor for the Grow Oregon program in Central Oregon.
Grow Oregon’s mission is to help traded-sector Oregon companies with 10-99 employees and $1-$50 million in sales revenue reach the next level of growth through strategic needs assessment, advanced market research and analysis, digital media assistance, business advising, resource partner engagement and CEO mentoring.
The program utilizes a team advising approach, and Pam will be working with Jim Boeddeker, Venture Catalyst Manager at Economic Development for Central Oregon . Central Oregon companies that participate in Grow Oregon will also have access to mentors in the Stable of Experts currently managed by EDCO.
Pam Stevenson, owner of Sprocket Consulting, has helped companies launch new products and entrepreneurs launch new companies for 26 years. She has a science and engineering background, with a B.S. in Chemistry from Duke, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford and an M.B.A. from Duke.
Her passion has always been innovation, whether composing code for IBM, crashing cars for General Motors or synthesizing sneakers for Nike.
She has served as an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation for OSU-Cascades and the Concordia University Graduate School of Management, as a Technology Business Consultant for the State of Oregon, and as a coach for the presenting companies at the Bend Venture Conference since its inception. She has also served as the Director of Marketing for Kialoa Paddles and General Manager for Ruffwear.
Today, she specializes in helping entrepreneurs with scalable businesses become fundable through strategic planning, connection with the right resources and creation of compelling business plans and investor presentations. During the past 14 years in Bend, Pam has coached more than 150 start-ups in industries as diverse as clean energy and dirty dogs.
The Small Business Development Center at Central Oregon Community College helps business owners build a business that works for them. They offer no cost one-on-one business advising, practical workshops, market research and assistance in obtaining financing for their business.
