Central Oregon’s iconic High Desert Museum is offering free admission Saturday, thanks to a sponsorship by Mid Oregon Credit Union.

“Mid Oregon Family Free Day” is a rare opportunity to enjoy the amazing wildlife, artful exhibits and meaningful history of the High Desert Museum at no cost.

“This is always a very fun and busy day for us,” said Dana Whitelaw, VP of Programs. “This is the second, and last, free day of the year.

“We have wildlife talks running continually throughout the day, as well as exhibit tours, hands-on activities for kids and many interesting historic characters to meet. And if you haven’t been to the museum in awhile you’ll see we have two new exhibits, Woven With Tradition: Plateau Indian Bags, and Animal Corridors.”

The museum is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, including the Rimrock Cafe and Silver Sage Trading Store. Note: Parking is limited! A free shuttle is offered from the Morning Star Christian School parking lot to the Museum and back all day. 19741 Baker Road. See website for details.

The “Free Family Saturday” complimentary admission program supports the educational mission of Mid Oregon Credit Union by providing the community with the opportunity to explore wildlife and living history right in Central Oregon’s backyard.
