Bend Parks & Rec offers ‘no school day’ activities

When Bend-LaPine Schools children are out of school this month, Bend Park & Recreation aims for children to be active and engaged through a variety of recreational programs.

Offered at several locations and times on March 7, 13 and 14, activities include
creative arts, science, sports and play.

For children who want to explore their creativity, there are several options including:

— First Friday Art, No School Days Art Play, Gyotaku Fish Prints, Wild Art and
Sonic Clay,

–Babysitter’s Training, Clubhouse and Piggy Bank Finance

For kids with an interest in the sciences, there are programs such as:

–Dinosaur Day, Light & Lasers and Good Vibrations the Sound of Science,

Finally, Bend Park & Recreation offers kids opportunities to get out and move whether in an organized sport or open play environment including:

–Exploring Archery, Hollywood Stunt Training and Bend Elk’s Baseball Spring
Training Camps

–Fit Kids classes and Open Recreation Swim at Juniper Swim & Fitness Center

As always, children’s safety and care are a priority in all BPRD programs. All staff
and volunteers receive specialized training and must pass thorough criminal background checks.
