The St. Charles Health System Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Greg Van Pelt as a new board member.

Van Pelt currently serves as president of the Oregon Health Leadership Council, a partnership of businesses, health plans and health systems in Oregon working to create greater value in the state’s health care system for patients.

Prior to this role, Van Pelt served in senior leadership for Providence Health and Services for 38 years including most recently as CEO of Providence’s Oregon Region.

“Greg’s experience with a large, successful, integrated health system will be invaluable to the St. Charles Board of Directors,” said James A. Diegel, FACHE, president and CEO of St. Charles Health System. “We are honored that Greg is willing to share his time and his considerable knowledge with us as we navigate the constantly changing health care landscape.”

The board voted to approve Van Pelt as a new member on Feb. 27. He will serve a three-year term.

“The Oregon health care community is very collaborative and progressive,” Van Pelt said.”St. Charles stands out as a leader in transformation and its commitment to excellence enjoys both regional and national respect. I am privileged to learn from what has been accomplished and I hope to contribute to the next chapter of this great organization.”
