Oregon Blue Book cover photo contest begins

KTVZ

Secretary of State Kate Brown announced Wednesday the opening of a contest to select the cover photo for the 2015 Oregon Blue Book.

Amateur photographers who would like submit an entry can find the contest guidelines on the Oregon Blue Book website .

The Oregon Blue Book is the official state almanac. It contains facts about all levels of government and more. The Blue Book has been published biennially since 1911, but 20 of Oregon’s 36 counties have never been represented on the front cover — including Crook County (Deschutes has had three and Jefferson one).

Secretary Brown said she is committed to address this oversight.

“The Blue Book is a special institution in Oregon,” said Secretary Brown. “And as with every institution it deserves a fresh look to make sure it best serves and reflects all of Oregon.”
