KTVZ

A goose hit a power line in northeast Bend Wednesday morning, causing an hours-long outage affecting nearly 500 Pacific Power customers near Pilot Butte, officials said.

The outage occurred at 6:23 a.m. after a goose hit the wires near Purcell Boulevard and Don Street, said spokesman Tom Gauntt.

The resulting outage was affecting 477 customers in the area. Initially, crews expected to restore power by about 10 a.m., but that was later pushed back to 11 a.m.

However, repairs took less time than expected and power was restored around 9 a.m., Gauntt said.
