Redmond HS JROTC drill team takes NW title

Redmond High School’s JROTC drill team was ranked first place in the 2014 Oregon Washington State Championship for all JROTC units.

This is the third year in a row that Redmond High School has won the two-state championship. It is the first year that RHS claimed the overall league trophy. The state wide meet was not held due to inclement weather so the championship was determined by a point matrix of all five events in which the unit participated.

RHS JROTC earned several team awards including:

Armed Drill Team – first place
Color Guard Team #1 – first place
Unarmed Drill team – second place
Marksmanship Team – second place
Color Guard Team #2 – third place
Physical Training team – fourth place

Redmond High’s JROTC Cadet Leadership Team includes the following students:

Logan Falco -Cadet commanding officer, unarmed drill team commander, armed drill team member, P.T. Team Captain.
Faith Irick -Cadet executive officer, unarmed drill team member, armed drill team member, color guard team #1 captain, P.T. member
Katlyn Belcher – Cadet supply officer, unarmed drill team member, armed drill team member, color guard team #1 member, marksmanship member.
Alex Lane -Cadet administrative officer, unarmed drill team member, armed drill team member, color guard team #1 member, marksmanship member.
Sharon Harman- cadet first sergeant, unarmed drill team member, armed drill team member, color guard team #2 captain.

Redmond High School’s JROTC program will be celebrating these team and more individual awards during the Annual JROTC Awards Night on Friday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the RHS commons.
