Emergency drill Saturday at La Pine HS

KTVZ

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and La Pine Fire Department will conduct a joint training exercise Saturday in the area of La Pine High School on Coach Road.

This is a cooperative effort between the Sheriff’s Office, La Pine Fire Department, and our partners to improve multi-agency response to critical incidents, said Sgt. Nathan Garibay, DCSO’s emergency services manager.

“Residents should expect a significant public safety presence in the area around La Pine High school including some travel restrictions on Coach Road,” Garibay said in a news release. “Those persons monitoring public safety radio may hear radio traffic that is consistent with an emergency, but is related to the exercise.”

Signage will be present notifying area residents and travelers of the training exercise, the sergeant said.

“Although inconvenience is expected to be minimal, we appreciate the community’s patience. The training exercise is expected to be completed by noon.

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is committed to enhancing public safety through collaborative efforts such as this exercise and we are proud to provide a valuable service to the residents and visitors of Deschutes County.
