A single-lane closure of Reed Market Road between Third Street and Ninth Street will begin on Monday, Sept. 8, after Labor Day weekend.Expect traffic delays and use caution in the area.

The city had expected to start construction of Reed Market Road between Third Street and Ninth Street in June, but the contractor decided to focus on the Reed Market and 15 th Street intersection improvements during the summer to ensure the intersection can reopen by November.

Construction work on Reed Market between Third and Ninth will take place on the south side of Reed Market Road first and then move to the north side.Throughout this time, eastbound traffic will be able to travel on Reed Market Road while westbound traffic will be detoured to Wilson Avenue and Ninth Street.

The work between Third and Ninth streets will be complete in August 2015.

Then, starting in August 2015, the small section of Reed Market between Ninth and 15 th is scheduled for construction. The road will be open to traffic during that phase of work.
