Pacific Power plans Culver-area outage Friday
About 1,600 Pacific Power customers in the Culver area will have their electricity interrupted during the early morning hours Friday so crews can safely upgrade substation equipment to provide for more reliable system operation.
The outage will begin at 1 a.m., officials said, and service will be restored by 5 a.m. or earlier if possible.
The area affected includes all of Culver, west to include the Three Rivers and Round Butte recreation areas, south to the Highway 97 bridge over the Crooked River and east to Highway 26.
Customers in the affected area have been notified individually about the planned outage and work.
Pacific Power said the timing was chosen to minimize inconvenience, especially for irrigators who will still be able to get their pumps operating by dawn under this plan.
“The upgrade work will help improve reliability in Jefferson County,” said Angela Price, the utility’s regional community manager. “Continued reliable, safe delivery of your electric service is our overriding priority, and this scheduled outage will help assure that.”
