Celebrated violinist joins High Desert Chamber Music board

High Desert Chamber is pleased to announce the addition of celebrated violinist Phillip Ruder to the Board of Advisors.

He is well-known to the Central Oregon community as the former Concertmaster of the Sunriver Music Festival, and on a national level, he has served as Concertmaster of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for 21 years. After retiring from his faculty position at the University of Nevada, Reno, and the Reno Philharmonic, Phillip now calls Bend home.

“I am honored to include Phillip Ruder as a supporting member of our organization. I look forward to his involvement in both our Concert Series and Educational Outreach programming. I believe Phillip’s long and expansive career in the music business will be an invaluable asset to High Desert Chamber Music,” states Executive Director Isabelle Senger.

Mr. Ruder is the second addition to the Board of Advisors, a group of members that act as ambassadors and advocates of High Desert Chamber Music’s mission. He joins Mark L. Mintz from Merrill Lynch and former HDCM Board President. They help guide, assist, and advise the Board of Directors in continuing our work in the community. The current Board of Directors include President Bill Riser, Secretary Andy Kizans (AT&T), Treasurer Rick Samco, and Directors Julie Kennedy Cochran, Matt Falkenstein (Shevlin Dental Center), Vince Mercurio, Pat Rogers, and Francis Senger (Mission Building).

High Desert Chamber Music’s mission is to bring world-class chamber music and musicians to Central Oregon. Now in its seventh season, HDCM has presented a broad range of chamber groups, ranging from string trios to piano quintets. Tickets for all events are available through HDCM online, by phone, or in person at our office in Downtown Bend.
