Saving Grace offers volunteer training

Saving Grace will hold its semi-annual volunteer training over the course of three weeks starting Saturday, April 11, through Thursday, April 30.

The 40-hour training, which will be held over a series of Tuesday and Thursday evenings and three Saturdays, will prepare volunteers to work directly with the individuals Saving Grace serves. The training fee is $75 to those willing to make a volunteer commitment of one year.

There will be an informational meeting for those interested in learning more about the volunteer program on Monday, March 30 th at 5:30pm at the Becky Johnson Center in Redmond (412 SW 8 th Street) and on Tuesday, March 31 st at 5:30pm at the Saving Grace Administrative Office in Bend (1004 NW Milwaukee, Suite 100) . After the training, volunteers will be able help with a variety of services including; answering hotline calls, assisting shelter residents, facilitating support groups, working with children, responding to sexual assault survivors at the hospital and assisting with restraining orders. Saving Grace has a particular need for hotline and hospital response volunteers.
