Friday classes canceled in Seattle, Bellevue

KTVZ News Team

SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle Public Schools and the Bellevue School District said Tuesday that Friday classes for all students are canceled because large numbers of staff are taking leave. According to an email officials sent to families from Seattle Public Schools, an unusually large number of staff is taking leave that day and officials do not believe they have adequate personnel to open schools with the necessary environment for high-quality learning. The Bellevue School District said school will be closed because of staffing shortages, anticipated inclement weather and COVID-19 restrictions. Schools were already set to be closed Thursday in observation of Veterans Day.
