Baker Road to close for RR crossing replacement

The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad will replace the railroad crossing of Baker Road in Deschutes River Woods from Monday, May 11 th through Wednesday, 13 th . Baker Road will be closed for three days to facilitate the work and to repave the crossing.

All traffic in and out of Deschutes River Woods, west of the Baker Road railroad crossing, will be detoured onto Brookswood Boulevard for the duration of the project, Deschutes County officials said Monday.

Baker Road will be closed at Cinder Butte Road on the west side and Baker Court on the east side of Baker Road.

The Highway 97 interchange with Baker Road will not be affected by this closure, and residents will continue to have full access into Riverwoods Country Store and Morning Star Christian School.

One week in advance of the closure, signage will be installed warning motorists of the upcoming closure.

The road closure will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Monday May 11 th and the road will re-open at approximately 6:00 p.m. on May 13 th . Detour routes will be Brookswood Boulevard to Powers Road to US 97.
