Redmond School District Superintendent Mike McIntosh has announced the selection of Jennifer Hesse for the principal position at Vern Patrick Elementary School in Redmond.

Hesse was selected for her expertise in elementary education, her strong passion for working with high poverty schools and her belief in collaborative leadership focused on positive outcomes for all students.

She is currently serving as the principal of Hawthorne Elementary in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Prior to working in Idaho, Hesse served in roles ranging from assistant principal to classroom teacher in Colorado Springs and Longmont, Colorado.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Western Oregon University and two master’s degrees in educational technology and curriculum & instruction. Hesse received her administrative certificate from Colorado State University.

“I am beyond excited to become part of the Redmond community and am looking forward to working with the staff, parents, and students at Vern Patrick Elementary,” Hesse shared. “As Vern Patrick’s new principal I will always have an open door policy and I look forward to working alongside parents and staff to help every child reach their potential.”

Jennifer Hesse will fill the principal position currently held by Kristen Rooney-Gleeson, who accepted a leadership position in Redmond School District’s K-12 Online virtual school. Hesse’s contract will begin with Redmond School District on July 1.

Hesse comes highly recommended by both supervisors and colleagues. She is described consistently as a positive, collaborative leader, a person with contagious energy and enthusiasm, and someone who has deep passion for making a difference for the students and families she serves.

“Redmond School District is enthusiastic about the selection of Jennifer Hesse as the Vern Patrick Elementary School principal,” McIntosh said.. “Jennifer has a strong background as elementary instructional leader and a deep commitment to enhancing partnership with parents as the bedrock for student success. She brings great enthusiasm and expertise and will be a valued member of the district team.”
