Bend Endurance Academy announces fall programs, teams

With summer wrapping up Bend Endurance Academy has opened fall enrollment for their youth cycling and rock climbing programs for the upcoming school year.

Entering their seventh year, Bend Endurance Academy has continued to grow and has again expanded the offerings for youth in Central Oregon to be active and engaged in outdoor and endurance-based sports.

Mountain biking offerings have expanded for the 2015 season with the addition of more elementary schools being included for pick up locations for after-school mountain biking programs. These rides are geared towards young cyclist in grades 1 – 6 who have some previous trail riding experience.

“While riders will receive some instruction along the way from the coaches, these rides are designed to be fun, social group rides for those with experience riding on the trail” says cycling program director Bill Warburton.

Back for another year will be the much-anticipated Bend Endurance Academy cyclocross program for rider’s ages 10 – 19 years of age. The Cyclocross team will have options for riders to practice one, two, or three days a week with experienced and professional coaches. The cross season starts Sept 8 th and will run until Nov 21 st . This is a great way for young cyclist to experience racing in a great environment with support from coaches and teammates.

Bend Endurance Academy rock climbing programs will be starting this fall with a full offering of programs for experienced and new climbers from ages 9 to 19 years of age. For climbers with previous experience and instruction BEA offers a youth, development, and high school teams. For the more committed climber looking to travel and compete BEA has a competition team that focuses on climbing competitions throughout the northwest. Youth with little to no previous experience are encouraged to participate in after-school and outdoor climbing programs with Bend Endurance Academy.
