KTVZ

The Redmond Police Department, in cooperation with Oregon Impact, Oregon Department of Transportation and law enforcement agencies across the nation, will be conducting enhanced DUII enforcement patrols during Christmas holiday period.

Enhanced patrols began on December 11 th and will continue through January 3 rd , 2016.

During this time Redmond police will have extra officers on the road focusing on deterring, locating and arresting impaired drivers.

These High Visibility Enforcement campaigns are designed to prevent deaths, injuries and property damage caused by impaired drivers and ultimately dissuade an impaired person from driving in the first place. Additionally, the patrols will hold accountable those who make the wrong decision to drive while impaired.

Funding for the extra patrols is made available to Redmond police via a grant from Oregon Impact, an Oregon based traffic safety advocacy group supported by the Oregon Department of Transportation.

Your Redmond Police Department constantly seeks grant funding in all areas in order to better provide service to all who visit or call Redmond home, as we strive to make Redmond the safest community in Oregon.

The Redmond Police Department wishes everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
