Bend-La Pine magnet schools host tours for parents

Families interested in exploring Bend-La Pine Schools’ Choice Options should consider taking advantage of upcoming tours and information sessions.

Available for students in grades K-8, the district’s Choice Options provide learning opportunities that are significantly different from our traditional programs, while meeting the same standards and requirements as other schools within the district.

Application Process and Guidelines:

Interested parents are strongly encouraged to attend parent information meetings and tours for the schools in which they are interested. Applications are available at each school. Students may only apply to ONE magnet school. If multiple applications are filed, all applications will be eliminated from the lottery. (Students may apply to a magnet school and to Bear Creek’s Dual Immersion Program.)

Important Dates:

March 18 – Applications due by 4 p.m.
April 1 – Letters mailed to families on magnet school status.
April 15 – Confirmation letters must be returned to schools.

Note: Parents wishing to send their children to a non-magnet school in another attendance area must fill out an Attendance Area Change Request form by March 1.
