Director of Sales

News Press & Gazette of Oregon is looking for a Director of Sales, who is highly motivated with a proven record of success, to oversee Sales revenue for its television and web properties.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Managing inventory; evaluating pacing; developing sales strategies; supervising and evaluating performance of the sales team; evaluating station revenue performance against the market; maintaining rate cards; focusing on New Direct business; defining commission structures and overseeing the budget process.

This position is also responsible for all national negotiations and strategy with the National Rep firms, while helping to oversee Commercial Production and work with the Traffic Manager to effectively manage inventory. The Director of Sales will also handle, inventory control and pricing; making local contacts and approve orders for processing and have the ability to motivate, manage, and develop local/national sales representative.

The successful candidate will have 5 to 10 years’ experience in a broadcast television sales management role, and a highly motivated personality, with great interpersonal skills. Solid written and verbal communication skills are a must. Proficiency in Wide Orbit, Efficio, and Wide Orbit Media Sales (formerly One Domain) are preferred.Candidate should also possess sufficient mobility to allow for business travel, a valid Oregon driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one, reliable transportation and legal proof of insurance.
