Prineville rape-abuse suspect re-arrested in S. Oregon

A 36-year-old Prineville man arrested earlier this year on rape and sex abuse charges involving a juvenile was arrested again Tuesday in southern Oregon, accused of violating a no-contact order in the case, Prineville police said Wednesday.

Warren Arthur Doescher Jr. was arrested by Douglas County sheriff’s deputies in the town of Azalea on a Crook County felony warrant, police said.

The alleged violation occurred after Doescher posted $25,000 bail and was released from the Crook County Jail, officers said. His initial bail upon arrest had been $500,000.

A Prineville juvenile’s report of long-term abuse led to a Redmond traffic stop in mid-March and Doescher’s arrest on two-dozen rape and abuse counts. Police said the juvenile, under 16, reported in early February being the victim of several sex-related crimes over a long period of time from a known suspect.

Police said Doescher was lodged at the Douglas County Jail, held on $300,000 bail and awaiting extradition back to Crook County.

Police Capt. Larry Seymour said Doescher is accused of trying to contact someone listed on his release agreement to not make contact with.

Doescher was arrested initially on eight counts each of first-degree rape, first-degree sec abuse and second-degree unlawful sexual penetration.

Seymour said the courts had modified Doescher’s initial bail to $300,000 on a revised 29-count indictment, including a dozen counts of first-degree sexual abuse, seven counts of first-degree rape, six counts of second-degree unlawful penetration and four counts of private indecency.

Online court records indicate a Dec. 5 trial date had been scheduled.
