Gorge search continues for missing Portland woman
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The search continues for the 21-year-old daughter of a member of the Utah-based music group The Piano Guys.
The Oregonian/OregonLive reports (http://bit.ly/2ex91hi ) that crews were searching the Columbia River Gorge on Saturday for Anna Schmidt, an avid hiker who was reported missing on Wednesday.
Schmidt is the daughter of The Piano Guys’ Jon Schmidt.
Schmidt was last seen by her roommate on Sunday. Her car was found at the gorge near Bonneville Dam on Thursday.
About 50 volunteers and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office resumed their search at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday along trails near the Toothpick Trailhead.
Officials planned to use drones and a plane to search areas where people can’t reach.
Anna moved to Portland from Salt Lake City in July. She is 5-foot-4, 125 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone who may have seen her is asked to call 911.
Jon Schmidt joined his wife in Oregon, and both were at the search command post Friday.
