Walden plans several C. Oregon stops Monday
Rep. Greg Walden, R-Ore., will be in Central Oregon on Monday, with meetings scheduled in Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson counties.
Monday at 9 a.m., Walden will be in Deschutes County to tour the Bend facility of pharmaceutical manufacturer Patheon. Walden will meet with officials at the facility and discuss federal issues affecting their industry.
Walden will meet at 10:30 a.m. with the Bend chapter of Oregon Band of Brothers, a service organization that provides veterans and current members of the military the opportunity to share friendship, camaraderie, and assistance. During the event, Walden will discuss his recent efforts in Congress to improve veterans’ healthcare options and resources at the Veterans Administration.
Walden will then travel to Crook County to meet at 1 p.m. with community leaders and officials with the city of Prineville. Walden will discuss local challenges facing the city, such as meeting the growing electricity demand in Prineville and the surrounding region.
Finally, Walden will make a stop in Jefferson County at 3 p.m. to meet with community leaders in Madras. He will tour the Erickson Aircraft Museum and discuss legislation he is working on in Congress to improve healthcare, create jobs and grow the economy in rural areas.
