KTVZ

This summer, the Western Federal Lands Highway Division, in participation with Deschutes County Road Department, will be replacing the Fall Creek Bridge at Milepost 26.57 on Cascade Lakes Highway.

The project, which is being funded by the Federal Highway Administration through the Federal Lands Access Program, will replace the existing deteriorated timber bridge with a new concrete bridge.

Additionally, the U.S. Forest Service – Deschutes National Forest, in participation with Deschutes County Road Department, will be replacing the Goose Creek culvert at Milepost 26.85 on Cascades Lakes Highway.

This project, which is also being funded through the Federal Lands Access Program, will enhance fish passage by replacing the existing undersized metal culvert with a new concrete arch culvert.

Work on the Fall Creek Bridge is anticipated to begin on June 19 , while work on the Goose Creek culvert is anticipated to start in early July.

Motorists should expect some delays through both projects, which will be combined into one traffic control zone. Detour roadways will be provided around both project worksites. The projects are anticipated to be completed by October 31 .
